Well, 2017 is drawing to a close and the housing market has battled through a year where stock of housing has been at a low and prices have been edging up in the first half of the year but with ever increasing uncertainty in the market, now we are seeing a correction in pricing. Vendors who are coming to the market are having to be more realistic and viewing numbers are not as high but the buyers are still there. Marketing and presentation are key and this will be more apparent and important as we prepare for the 2018 market. What will this bring?…well who is to know, but I feel that January is going to be a tell tale month. With the recent stamp duty freeze for first time buyers up to £300,000 and with various Help to buy schemes still in play, we should see the bottom end of the market battle on, hopefully giving the middle and upper ends of the market the helping hand that is needed.
